Mango leaf extract (Zynamite)

Mango leaf extract is a mangiferin source with early cognition data, but label doses are below studied amounts.

How it counts: Not part of the score

We show it on the label and count it as disclosed, but it never affects Dose, any sub-score or the grade. The basis below explains why.

Evidence summary

Research confidence: low

No reference dose. Mango leaf extract is rich in mangiferin, a plant polyphenol, and is not a stimulant: 300 mg did not change heart rate or blood pressure. That 300 mg dose improved attention and memory accuracy for up to 5 hours in 70 adults (Wightman 2020), and the exercise studies used 140 mg taken together with quercetin or luteolin, which pre-workouts rarely include. Pre-workouts typically carry about 70 mg, half the smallest dose tested in exercise and under a quarter of the cognitive dose; the trials were funded by, supplied by or co-authored with the manufacturer (Nektium).
