Evidence summary
Research confidence: low
No pre-workout reference dose. A manufacturer-sponsored trial of a multi-ingredient pre-workout containing a Dendrobium extract reported higher subjective energy and concentration but no objective exercise-performance or body-composition benefit; the formula also raised systolic and diastolic blood pressure and does not isolate this botanical or verify a Dendrobium nobile stem 10:1 extract. Reviews of D. nobile and dendrobine are largely preclinical or concern chronic traditional-medicine uses, not acute use by healthy athletes. A 10:1 extract ratio states raw-herb concentration and does not establish an active-alkaloid yield.

Dendrobine is a major Dendrobium nobile alkaloid, but the reported cognitive and neuroprotective evidence summarized by the review is preclinical and does not establish an acute human pre-workout dose.

The stimulant detected in Craze was undeclared N,alpha-DEPEA and had not been identified in any plant, including Dendrobium. This supports treating the Craze episode as product adulteration, not evidence that authentic Dendrobium nobile naturally supplies that stimulant.
